What’s included in a full mobile car service?
Our full mobile car service delivers the same high-quality checks and replacements that we usually perform in our garages, including:
- An oil and filter change.
- An air filter change.
- Checks of your brakes, tyres, steering, and suspension.
- A dashboard warning lights inspection – and more!
The main difference between the two is that you get to sit and observe (or get on with jobs) while we work at your home or workplace for the ultimate convenience – no garage trip needed!

How do we deliver a mobile service at your home or workplace?
Using specially trained colleagues, with bespoke tools, procedures and health & safety and environmental waste management solutions, we’re able to deliver the full mobile service to your driveway or place of work confidently and safely.
Our protective equipment used during the mobile service includes:
- Fluid spillage mats that are placed under your vehicle to protect the ground we work on.
- Appropriately labelled environmental waste containers to carry waste generated during the service, back to our hubs for safe environmental disposal.

How long does a mobile full service take?
You can expect your Halfords full mobile service to take (on average) up to 2 and a half hours to complete. Plenty of time to get on with your list of jobs or rest your feet while we work on your vehicle!
Are there any vehicles you can’t service on a driveway?
There are a few exceptions where our Halfords Mobile Experts are currently unable to provide the full mobile service:
- Hybrid vehicles.
- Battery electric vehicles.
However, your local Halfords garage will happily assist customers with these vehicles through our EV and hybrid servicing options.
What conditions are required for a mobile full service?
Our experts require the following conditions to safely deliver a mobile service at your home or work:
- Flat and solid ground for stable working.
- At least 1 metre of space around the vehicle for safety clearance barriers or bollards.
- An off-road location (e.g. a concrete driveway or employer’s car park) with the ability for our technician to park their van close by.
Unfortunately, poor weather conditions may mean we are sometimes unable to complete the booked service, although this is unusual. We’ll always liaise with customers to advise on any challenges and if required, rebook the appointment at a time convenient for you.
How can you book a mobile Full Car Service?
Our mobile full service can be easily booked online.
- Add the Full Car Service to your basket.
- Select ‘We’ll come to you’.
- Check the conditions listed to ensure we can safely operate a mobile full service at your location.
- Choose a convenient time slot (certain time frames may come with an additional charge).
- Book your mobile service!

We’ll also send you a reminder and call before we arrive on the day to ensure you’re prepared for our visit.
Will you switch off my servicing warning light?
After completing your mobile full service, our technicians will switch off your servicing warning light (subject to data & equipment availability). This will reflect your updated maintenance schedule.
Do you update vehicle manufacturer digital service records?
After a full mobile service, we do not update your service records. However, we will stamp your vehicle’s maintenance logbook with a ‘Halfords Garage Services’ branded stamp to confirm that a full service has been completed.
Can you take away any old car parts or fluids?
Our environmental waste license allows Halfords Mobile Experts to carry and dispose of the waste we create as part of our service.
However, we cannot take away waste from a customer’s location that we have not created. For example, we are unable to remove oil or brake pads that a customer may have removed from their vehicle themselves.
