1. Avoid untimely breakdowns
Battery failure is one of the main reasons people get stuck in the summer, thanks to a combination of hot weather speeding up the battery ageing process, and an increase in short trips that don’t allow your battery the chance to fully recharge.
So, the summer is the perfect time to get your battery’s health assessed if you don’t want your plans to come grinding to a halt – especially when you’re away.
In our 5-point check, we’ll assess your battery’s key health indicators, such as its charging and ‘cranking’ capabilities, to make sure that everything’s working as it should.
2. Protect your windscreen
Many of us use our cars for longer journeys in the summer months, whether that’s heading off on holiday or a series of days out. All this extra driving can take a toll on your windscreen, especially if you’re driving across gravel or other surfaces that could cause debris to chip your windscreen.
During the car check, we’ll assess the condition of your windscreen and check for any chips in the glass that could cause a problem further down the line.

3. Prepare for British weather
Let’s face it, it’s not a UK summer without the odd day of rain. With this in mind, you’ll want to make sure that your wiper blades are working well so that you can still see clearly in wet conditions.
We’ll check that your wiper blades are in good condition before you get caught out, and if they do need replacing, we can help you find the right ones.
4. Night-time driving
During the summer months, you’ll probably find yourself extending your days to make the most of the light – meaning you’ll be driving back home in the dark. Therefore, you should always make sure your headlights are working before setting off on any long-distance summer trips. Plus, you’ll need working brake lights at any time of the day!
We’ll check your lights are all working as they should be, and help you find the right bulbs if you do need any replacements.
5. Get MOT ready
